About your newborn shoot in Leeds
I have been photographing newborns for nearly 10 years and have seen so many families grow. This is such an honour for me. It all starts with a call or message! I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Rest assured your new baby is in safe hands! With years of experience under my belt my whole aim is that you love and enjoy your session with me, then of course adore your images and wall art.
I do always try to encourage families to get in the images, even if its just the one! The beauty of how I work is that you do not have to buy anything until you come back and view your images so you see them first. I tend to get a nice, natural, timeless variety in your sitting, starting off with some simplistic ones that capture all those little details, then perhaps a few swaddled shots, props them onto your family images, However, this is dependant on baby, they rule the roost and every shoot is newborn led.
People often ask me how do you know when to book in? Well, I only take a maximum number of newborn sittings per month so that I know that I can fit everyone in with plenty of time. I also only photograph one sitting a day, Again this is to maximise your experience as Im not a fan of time pressure haha,
You don’t need to worry about what to bring as long as you have the essentials – milk and nappies! I do the rest, In terms of what to wear, I always suggest colour coordinated clothing, no patterns or labels or even Sunday best. However as this is certainly a tiering time, just come along, enjoy and if the mood takes you pop on one of my beautiful dresses (dads you can too if you like!), but I do have a lovely selection, Dads, jeans and a plain top is great, and some even take of their tops for a skin to skin image – but this isn’t essential so please don’t come thinking ill be asking you to whip off your top! Everything is whatever you’re comfortable with.
So, once I have received your enquiry and you want to book, I ask for the sitting fee of £49. This then secures your date and I pencil in your due date. I then wait to hear from you and when I do, we get you booked in! Booking in advance is highly recommended but if you haven’t, then please message me anyway and I will always do my best to book you in. How can I turn away teenies?
You may notice I shoot light and dark. Every sitting is tailored to you so if you would like light simplistic images, or a more fine art darker look, or both then this can be done. This will be discussed prior to your sitting. If you don’t actually know, then just turn up and ill do the rest!
Oh, and if you have pets – bring them! I love animals!

It was shortly after my daughter was born that I found my love for photography. And, can you believe I didn’t get her newborn images done? In all fairness it wasn’t as big back then as it is now, but it is something honestly I wish I documented. I say this all the time to my clients in that investing in something such as this is something you never regret. They are best done from day 5 – 21 following babies arrival. I have of course done older too!
Newborn shoots are entirely baby led. They can take a few hours, they can take longer. It depends on what mood bebe is in that day! No matter on the length of time it takes, I will get the most beautiful gallery documenting those little details, some in cute handmade props in those sweet poses, mixed with some entirely natural ones. Family portraits and siblings shots are included at no extra cost. Following your sitting you’re invited back to view your personalised slideshow where you can choose products and digitals with money off bundles buys and wall art credit too to make it afforadable for all.

We are over the moon
We recently had a newborn plus family shoot and we are over the moon with our photos! When should i book my newborn baby shoot?
Many people book at very different times. As a rule of thumb your 20 week scan is advised to ensure you have your space secured. However if your baby is here and you want to book please do mail or call me, I will always do my best to squeeze people in.
what age is best for my babies newborn sitting?
The best time to do your newborn shoot is 1-3 weeks when they’re all snoozy and scrunched. I have done later babies and never turn anyone away if theyre past that mark. Whatever age, you will get the most beautiful gallery.
how long do they take?
The golden question! As all my shoots are baby led, so it depends on baby! Usually they take anything from 2-4 hours. My shoots are very relaxed and laid back to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. I only book in one newborn a day so there is no time pressure.
what shall we wear?
I always suggest neutral colours for your family portraits. SO perhaps denims, whites and blacks. You’re very welcome to get dressed to the 9’s and go all out! I have some beautiful handmade dresses too,
what happens after the shoot?
Following your sitting I take your images back and lovingly hand edit them one by one. When they’re ready I invite you back to view your very own slideshow where can then decide what images and wall art pieces you would like! There is no sales pressure and it is very laid back.
