My name is Rachel and I am a professional photographer from Boston Spa. I have been a photographer for 10 years so have worked for many years at my craft, photographing many hundreds of families over the years, and now specialising as a newborn photographer in Leeds. Every single photography session is tailored to you, you can come to me with ideas or just show up and I’ll do the rest, The biggest thing for me is to ensure not only do you walk away with the most beautiful unique images and wall art, but that you enjoy the experience itself.

 In Aug 2021 I moved into my dream studio which is based in Tadcaster, full of history and character. I specialise in everything people, newborn photography, family portraits, maternity and headshots too! Tadcaster is a town very easy to access and is based around 20 mins from Leeds York and Harrogate with free parking just outside.

A bit about me? I am a mum of one – Marcy. She is 13 so we are in the teenage full swing, although it feels like we’ve been here a while! Marcy is my reason. We are super close to my dad, and I am very family and friends orientated. Oh, and I am animal obsessed!

On one Boxing Day my best friend and I took an ad hock trip out to buy a camera! Over time I started to take it every where with me and I would take photos of out days out. I would post these on my social media and people began to ask if I would take images of their children – so I thought – why not? So, I set up my very first shoot in my local village hall. From there I moved around using friends conservatories, my dads living room then a small room I hired out in Boston spa. I started and completed a degree in Social work at this point too which I loved and learnt a lot. I actually believe this contributed to how I see things in my photography. When I qualified I was met with a crossroad – social work or take the plunge into my own full time photography business, so guess which I chose! Years on, it became my obsession and I studied, trained with some of the best photographers, practiced my lighting on weekends, read books, looked at award winning images and what made them winners, basically I just went for it! Which led me to here. At present I have won several of the worlds biggest photography competitions, the best being grand winner of the portrait division for WPPI in Las Vegas ( yes I was there too!) and scoring 100/100 which is very rare. Following this I had an article written on me and my work in the Yorkshire post – I am really proud of this! However I believe we will always continue to learn still our craft which is what I will continue to do – keep pushing! Thats enough about my bragging, why chose me for you photo shoot in leeds? You may wonder where the name comes from? Sadly I lost my darling mum Evelyn in 2010 so my business is named after her and her favourite flower, Sweet Peas. She would indeed be very proud!

As a family photographer in Leeds, I am honoured when a family asks me to capture their memories together. A family photoshoot is a time to get together and freeze a moment in time. Every shoot is tailored exactly to you and your family and everyone enjoys the experience, as well as walking away with a gallery you love!

During family sessions I offer a variety of portraits to capture the real ‘you’. Your whole family together is often the most important image. And you can include your whole family, including grandparents and even your dog! I’ll photograph each parents on their own – when was the last time you havd a couple photograph? and the kids, of course, are always the stars of the show.

The Photography Studio

My homely photography studio is 100’s years old and boasts the original brick and an old reclaimed mill floor. Here you will also find random props, furniture and items to study. I have all the home comforts you need if you are a family or a new parent. I’m a specialist newborn photographer in Leeds and I like to make everyone feel welcome. 

Clients travel from throughout Yorkshire for theoir portrait photography, and I am lucky enough to have well over 100 combined 5-star reviews from over the years.

My studio is in a handy location that sits right in the middle of Leeds, York and Harrogate all-around 25 mins away. Tadcaster is an old fashioned brewery town that has lots to offer, plus free parking. Following your photoshoot, you can grab a coffee or some lunch in one of the amazing cafes/restaurants that reside nearby, or take a stroll by the river which has the most beautiful views of the old viaduct.
